BPO Office Building for Amtron at Guwahati

This was a competition entry for an office building which would house a call centre for Amtron, which is the main technology agency in Guwahati, Assam. The site is located near the airport and is part of an economic zone which has been earmarked for development in information technology and digital sciences.

Our design approach was to create column free floor spaces supported by rigid service cores and a lightweight exo skeleton which is the diagrid steel frame that also makes for the primary aesthetic of the building. We wanted to avoid creating a glass box and a secondary louvered skin protects from the sun and reduces heat gain into the building. This competition entry was designed by skcop and submitted in collaboration with RJB-CPL.
